The offered Kirby Puckett bat was ordered by the late Hall of Famer following the season in which the Twins won their first World Series. This black ash 1987 Louisville Slugger model C243 has been evaluated by PSA/DNA as being promotional. The professional model club has dimensions of 35”/32.8 ounces and is uncracked, thus exhibiting moderate usage. The barrel reveals extensive ball marks and stitch impressions, while the handle is taped in a spiral pattern. Puckett’s uniform number 34 is written on the knob in silver marker, while his autograph (d.2006) of the same color if found on the front barrel (“8”). According to the Full LOA from PSA/DNA, this specimen perfectly matches the November 2, 1987 order for 24 promotional bats. Although the tape pattern and 34 on the knob do not match any of the examples in the PSA/DNA database, there have been instances when players have used promotional bats as gamers. The autograph comes with a COA from James Spence Authentications.
