Presented is a probable nineteenth century baseball cabinet that features two players from a Nappanee, Indiana town or semi-pro team. The players are identified in pen on the reverse as “Ike” Jacobs and “Corky” Rosbrough. Released by J.M. Keller, this approximately 4-1/4 x 6-1/2” sepia-toned cabinet is a poignant depiction of early baseball. Aside from a minor surface crease, negligible surface paper loss, minor scuffing, and light soiling on the blank reverse, the players are accentuated quite well in the studio setting. A neat cabinet highlighted by the depiction of early uniforms and equipment.
