Presented is a rather extraordinary collection featuring (91) boxing photographs. The lot is noteworthy as it hails from the personal photograph archives of Jack Welsh, longtime Ring Magazine writer and boxing journalist/analyst. About two-thirds of the images will feature Welsh in some fashion or another with sixty examples being glossy 8x10 photographs; the remaining vary in size, ranging from 5x3 to 6x10. The vast majority of the photographs are non-standard ring shots, displaying Welsh alongside fighters, backstage, at Casinos, interviews and weigh-ins or other more intimate situations. Loaded with Hall of Fame boxers and several other personalities, the lot is highlighted by 8x10: Benitez, Berbick, (2) Czyz, Duran, Frazier, (2) Gavilan, (2) Griffith, (2) Holmes, D. King, (2) Rossman, Bonecrusher Smith, M. Spinks, George Steinbrenner, Tyson, J. Young, (2) Hearns/Leonard (fight shots), Tyson/Arum, M.Spinks/Holmes/King, Leonard/Bill Cosby: 5x7 & 5x8:
Hearns, (3) Holmes, Mancini, (2) M. Spinks, Lynn Swann and Holmes/Moore. The lot also features (3) signed and personalized 8x10 photographs, each featuring Welsh beside the boxer who signed the photo, including Milton McCrory and Don King. A one-of-a-kind grouping featuring ample boxing photos that, simply, has never been seen.
