Presented is a lovely United States of America 5x10 foot 38 Star flag produced between 1877 and 1889. Modified yet again to include the 38th state, Colorado, this flag is from the era in American history marked by the end of America’s centennial and the start of the Spanish-American War. Also noteworthy as the first flag to be used on postage stamps, the banner has survived extremely well given its size and hemp/linen material. With four brass grommets and a #536 notation on the upper left corner, the moderately toned surface exhibits small scattered moth-holes and minor edge fraying, though comparatively speaking, flags of this age and size rarely survive this completely. This flag is truly an impressive sight to behold and an undisputed relic of America’s rich history.
