For decades the Little Red Book of Major League Baseball educated fans and sportswriters about the players, teams and history of our national pastime. Offered is a group of (8) 1934-1949 personal “Little Red Book” copies that belonged to Hall of Fame sportswriter Shirley Povich. Each of these bound books displays the owner’s monogrammed name on the cover. Although the spines of these 1934, 1939, 1942 and 1945-1949 editions are notated in white paint, the hard covers reveal only moderate wear. The majority of the inner pages are crisp and clean, and only the 1942 and 1945 copies have any loose binding. Additionally, there exists some instances of writing, library stamps and other markings that do not diminish from either the readability or aesthetic appeal of these annuals.
