Description

In recent years the colorful 1954 Red Heart Dog Food set has witnessed a revival in collecting interest. The offered near set of (32/33) cards has benefited from the recent surge in regional issues that has shot this set into the upper tier. One-third of the near set features Hall of Famers with Ashburn SP (EX), Mantle (VG), Martin (EX-MT), (2) Schoendienst SP (VG-EX, VG) and Spahn (EX) leading the way. The majority of the remaining singles grade similarly to the stars with most in the (VG-EX) range with some lesser and a handful better. This set is missing only Musial for completion. The condition breakdown for this set is 16% (EX-MT or better), 19% (EX), 16% (VG-EX), 33% (VG) and 16% (off-grade).

Ashburn SP (EX), Fox (EX), Kell (EX), Kiner (VG), Lemon SP (VG-EX), Mantle (VG), (2) Schoendienst SP (VG-EX, VG), Slaughter (GD), Snider (PR), Spahn (EX) and the five remaining SPs grading as follows: Erskine (EX), Kluszewski (EX), Martin (EX-MT), McDougald (GD) and Rosen (VG-EX). The majority of the remaining singles grade similarly to the stars with most in the (VG-EX) range with some lesser and a handful better. Mid-grade duplicates are of Fain, Kuenn, Minoso and Pierce.
