Presented is a group of (11) religious items relating to Islam signed by Muhammad Ali. The highlight is a personal poem and sketch penned in marker on a manila envelope that reads To Russ from Muhammad Ali, Love is the net, where hearts, are caught like fish 1-19-89. The remaining (7) pieces are assorted pamphlets that describe the beliefs of Islam and contain signatures on the cover. All but one of the items has been inscribed with a date between 1989 and 1991, and (4) contain a personalization. Each black or blue ink signature is an excellent example of Ali’s handwriting before Parkinson’s took its grip on his health, and all autographs grade in the (“9” to “10”) range. This lot is accompanied by an auction LOA from James Spence Authentications.
